Don Perez, aka D.S. Perez, is a graduate of San Jose State University and former newspaper writer, columnist and editor. After a long, strange trip of interviewing characters ranging from the great to the small, he has spent the last several years doing freelance work.
He returned to El Camino College in 2017 to obtain some technical skills and explore the possibility of teaching journalism later. He was a columnist and staff MVP on the El Camino College newspaper in the mid 1990s.
He also did a stint at Cerritos College and was interim editor-in-chief there before transferring to San Jose.

Writers he read while developing his own craft include Gary Smith, Mike Royko, Hunter S. Thompson, Sean Reiley aka Seanbaby, the staff of MAD Magazine and The Onion.
Three individuals he’d like to interview: astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, boxer Mike Tyson and video game designer Sid Meier.
Personal interests include hockey – he was a NHL writer for a few years – history, gambling, video games (these days, “Hearthstone” and “XCOM 2”), blues and electro swing music, “Warhammer 40,000” lore and cartoons. He also occasionally pens comedy articles from the perception of non-player characters suffering in video games such as “World of Warcraft.”
